Our Story

The Start of a Dairy Revolution

In 2015, Jon King embarked on a journey within the dairy industry, initially as a Policy Analyst for the Dairy Farmers of Newfoundland and Labrador (DFNL) in eastern Canada. Little did he know, this venture would lead to a revolutionary change in the way the dairy supply chain operates.

Immersed in the complexities of dairy operations, Jon recognized a significant hurdle - decision-making hampered by outdated and inaccessible data. The antiquated methods of managing information, involving endless paper milk slips, spreadsheets, emails, and phone calls, proved to be a labyrinthine and time-consuming ordeal.

It was this chaos that sparked Jon's visionary idea – a real-time software that seamlessly connected the disparate elements of the dairy supply chain. This innovative solution would provide all stakeholders with a shared dataset, empowering them to make informed decisions swiftly and collaboratively. DFNL became the pioneering client of this transformative tool, and Jon enlisted the expertise of Rob Forsythe, already in the midst of an MBA with a background in the energy sector supply chain.

Rob, leveraging his strategic acumen, crafted Milk Moovement's formidable go-to-market strategy. In the blink of an eye, the company garnered attention from the United States market and forged impactful partnerships with investors.

Fast forward five years, and Milk Moovement stands tall as an industry leader in dairy supply chain software. Managing a staggering 32 billion pounds of milk annually, it holds sway over approximately 15% of the United States dairy industry. The once cumbersome and disjointed dairy supply chain has been streamlined into a well-coordinated symphony, thanks to the vision and innovation of Jon King and Rob Forsythe.
